During the round table organized yesterday by Stellantis with Italian Minister Adolfo Urso at the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, Jean-Philippe Imparato, Chief Operating Officer of Stellantis for the Enlarged Europe region, reaffirmed the group’s unwavering commitment to Italy and its industrial and social fabric.

The director of the exploitation of Stellantis notably insisted on the leading role that Lancia will play. Indeed, the brand is currently experiencing a rebirth in terms of new models, revamped showrooms and internationalization process, which should allow it to strongly restore its presence on the high -end market. Stellantis notably reaffirmed its promise to produce the new Lancia Gamma in the Melfi factory from 2026. Recognized as one of the company’s centers of excellence, this emblematic factory was chosen for its superior quality of production and its strategic role in transition to electric mobility.

The decision to produce Lancia Gamma in Melfi reflects Stellantis’ commitment to promote products manufactured in Italy. This choice reinforces not only the Lancia link with its Italian roots, but also underlines the importance of investing in local territories to create innovative and advanced products and energize the entire local and national economy.

The new Lancia Gamma: 100 % made in Italy and available in hybrid and electric version

Designed and developed in Italy, the new flagship will be produced at the Stellantis factory in Melffi (Potleza) from 2026. It embodies the commitment of the Italian brand in favor of sustainable development and high performance, while celebrating the incomparable elegance that has defined Lancia for decades. This new model will be built on the new multi -energy platform Stla Medium, which allows the integration of hybrid and electric motors. The decision to provide the new model of electrical and hybrid engines is a direct response to the current market dynamics and will allow the vehicle to meet any type of need for mobility, which will result in likely production of production and, therefore, an increase in the brand’s competitiveness on the global market.

Melfi factory, flagship of the Italian manufacturing industry

The Melfi factory, located in basilicate, is a symbol of Italian crafts and technological innovation. Opened in 1994, Melfi is a cornerstone of national and international automotive production, combining Italian art with the most advanced manufacturing technologies. In addition, thanks to its highly automated production processes and the emphasis on sustainable development, the factory will continue to play a central role in the electrification strategy of Stellantis. The new gamma marks in particular the return of Lancia to this factory where the second generation of the Ypsilon was produced between 1995 and 2003.

An ambitious and achievable roadmap

The rebirth of Lancia began in Italy at the end of 2023 with the presentation of the new logo, the introduction of the new brand identity and, above all, the launch of the Lancia Pu+Ra Hpe concept. The following phases followed one another at a sustained pace, in accordance with the Dare Forward strategic plan in Stellantis, which provides an effective range of three new models – one every two years – and an accelerated internationalization process on the various European markets. The first vehicle launched was the new Lancia Ypsilon, which is currently receiving a warm welcome from the public and the international press.

New exhibition halls in Italy and abroad

The launch phase of the new Ypsilon, the first model of the new Lancia era, is almost completed in Italy in the 160 Casa Lancia, the new exclusive showrooms that display the new identity of the brand. In France, points of sale are being opened to cover a large part of the territory in 2025. The new Lancia Ypsilon, LX and Cassina, all available in hybrid or electric configuration, are already available to the trial to discover the unrivaled capacities of vehicles in terms of maneuverability and efficiency.

The new Lancia Ypsilon: a successful story

Welcomed with enthusiasm by the public and the press, the new Lancia Ypsilon was launched in Milan last February. The first vehicle of the new era of Lancia is distinguished by its versatility, its effectiveness and its durability. Designed, developed and drawn in Turin, the new model is intended for modern and environmental customers. Proof of the success of the Lancia strategy, the new vehicle has already received more than 11,000 orders since its launch and has been warmly welcomed during the recent initiatives in Italy and France. 2025 will mark the return of Lancia to motorsport, the brand seeking to restore its presence on the scene of contemporary races. The star of this return is the new Ypsilon Rally HF, which pays tribute to the glorious heritage of Rally of the most victorious brand in history. Simultaneously, next year will be devoted to the return of the HF name, which will first appear on the Ypsilon, then on the gamma and the new delta with the “HF Integle” label. Lancia is back!
