An innovative project to remove the obstacle of mobility of young people in rural areas
As part of this local experimentation, the town hall of Chenevelles has set up “Solidarity friend”an unprecedented program allowing young people aged 18 to 25 to access a vehicle without a permit subject to achieving a few hours of civic engagement for the benefit of their municipality.
Cyril Cibert, president of the association of rural mayors of Vienne and mayor of Chenevellesunderlines the major issue of this initiative:
“The absence of mobility solution is a major obstacle to the professional integration of young people. When you live 16 km from a city center and families cannot afford to buy an additional vehicle, it is urgent to act. We want to raise this obstacle so that our young people can access their professional and training meetings.”
Thanks to the“friend-solidary” application developed by a local companyyoung people can reserve a Citroën Friend by justifying their need (job interview, professional appointment, training). The final validation is carried out by the town hall, guaranteeing optimal use of the system.
