Nissan is preparing to dismiss about 2,000 people by the end of this year in the United States, the largest car manufacturer market in Japan.

Details of the plan, including the reduction of production in two factories in the USA and the reduction of the number of vehicles produced in the country by 25%.

Nissan will reduce the production capacity of the Smyrna factory in Tennessee and the Canton factory in Mississippi, both with approximately one million total production capacity and equipped with four assembly lines.

Last November, Nissan announced that it plans to dismiss 9,000 globally, 70 percent in production departments, and hundreds of early retirement in the United States in December. According to Yomiuri, based on the results of the restructuring and the decrease in electric vehicle sales – Nissan plans to review investment and production plans for electric vehicles in the United States because of the lack of hybrid models in the US market and was reduced to four in the canton factory.
