The artisans at Singer have unveiled the Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe to pay homage to the wide-bodied, naturally aspirated G-body 911s of the 1980s, but in typical fashion, the tastefully modified models have been infused with modern performance.

Singer founder Rob Dickinson calls it “a vision for an ultimate, naturally aspirated, G model 911,” echoing Porsche’s period Super Sport Equipment models, but reengineered with over a decade of learning and collaboration with the automotive world’s elite. A 4.0-litre flat-six (jointly developed with Cosworth) features a Singer first variable valve timing system, and water-cooled cylinder heads paired with air-cooled barrels sit at the very back of the Porsche. Power output stands at 309 kW, revving beyond 8 000 r/min and mated to a six-speed manual sending power to the rear wheels.

As ever, the journey begins with a donor Porsche 911 Type 964, carefully disassembled down to its steel monocoque, which is then strengthened in partnership with Red Bull Advanced Technologies. Composite and steel reinforcements elevate the rigidity of the 964’s core, creating a stiffer, more refined chassis for modern demands. Singer has paired this foundation with suspension developed from its turbocharged programs, offering electronically adjustable dampers, a nose-lift system, and carbon ceramic brakes for serious performance. The 18” centre-lock wheels are shod in Michelin Pilot Sport tyres and communicate with the road through five driving modes.

Faithful to the spirit of the G model, the bodywork is reimagined in carbon fibre, lowering weight and raising stiffness. The wide-arched silhouette does come with options to further personalise the build; a fixed rear wing or a speed-activated spoiler, with rising auxiliary driving lights and functional aero intakes, are key additions.

Singer’s craftsmanship continues within. Clients can choose lightweight sports or track seats, select bespoke leathers or corduroy, and admire hand-built gauges set in a familiar 911 layout. Discreet tech includes CarPlay, navigation, and air-conditioning — integrated with minimal disruption to the car’s analogue soul. The two samples seen here are finished in Celeste Passalacqua with Mars Pink interior, while the other is in Giallo Segnale with a fixed wing, front splitter, track seats, and Interferenza cloth. Both iterations are completed to represent touring and track focus.
Only 100 examples of the Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Reimagined by Singer will be created, with each commission reflecting its owner’s vision. Pricing, as always, depends on the specification and the scope of restoration, but it would be in the multi-millions!
