According to the Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters’ Association (OİB) data, the exports of the automotive industry in 2024 were recorded as 37 billion 212 million dollars with an increase of 6.3 percent compared to the previous year.
The share of the automotive sector from Türkiye’s exports was 17.3 percent. The sector, which maintains its first place in Türkiye’s exports, has become the export champion for the 18th time in the last 19 years.
Last year, Germany, the largest market of automotive, was exported to 4 billion 856 million dollars. In 2024, the second largest market, the United Kingdom, 25 percent, Italy 9.5 percent, Slovenia 33 percent, 19 percent to the United States, Romania 33.5 percent exports increased.
With a share of 68.2 percent in the sector, automotive exports of 25.3 billion dollars were realized to the European Union countries, which are the largest country groups, in 2024. Last year, 25 percent of other European countries, 17 percent of the North American Free Trade Zone, 55 percent of Oceania countries were increased.
OİB Chairman Baran Çelik, who included his opinions in the statement, reported that 2024 is a challenging year in terms of global economy.
Stating that they have left behind a year faced with the shrinkage of demand in the global market, Çelik said, “However, as the automotive sector, we managed to protect our export leadership in 2024.
