International Volunteer Day is an ideal opportunity to recall the results of the World Stellantis Motor Citizens program, which allows all Stellantis collaborators to devote the equivalent in hours of a paid working day per year to activities in favor of others.
By taking advantage of the diversity and talent of our employees, a program was created to consolidate diversity worldwide and promote equal opportunities and inclusion as a strong point of our business, with initiatives aimed at creating integration and solidarity with the communities in which we operate.
The field of action is vast, with initiatives focused on supporting local communities, quality education, the environment and the climate, paying particular attention to gender equality and disability. The program, active for several years, has already carried out many projects worldwide, from India to the United States, from Morocco to Brazil, as well as in many European countries.
On the weekend of November 17, for example, during a running in the Mirafiori complex in Turin, more than 60 volunteers from Stellantis Motor Citizens have devoted themselves to cleaning the course by collecting more than 130 kg of waste, while other volunteers, with the group Directi Fiat, organized a program of fun and sports activities for 35 young people with disabilities. The chairman of the board of directors of Stellantis, John Elkann, accompanied by his family, and Jean-Philippe Imparato, director of operations of Stellantis for extended Europe, as well as many other managers of Stellantis, also participated in activities with young people.
Our colleagues across the Channel is devoted to the support of childhood in difficulty. For Christmas celebrations, the Stellantis Motor Citizens in the United Kingdom will participate for the third consecutive year in the Coventry Holiday Activities and Food Program (HAF), a national project funded by the Department of Education which offers cultural, physical and nutritional activities to children and young people. On December 11 and 12, a team of our colleagues will be committed to preparing and delivering “magic boxes” to children who cannot leave their homes, but who will be able to live the fascinating atmosphere of Christmas.
A story of dedication and courage comes from Spain and Portugal. Unfortunately, during this year, the Iberian Peninsula was struck by devastating disasters to which our colleagues were not indifferent. The Stellantis Motor Citizens distinguished themselves by forming the largest group of blood donors among all the companies that participated in the Don campaign, while the volunteer firefighters from the Mangualde and Madrid factories played a fundamental role in the support of the population affected by floods.
The colleagues of Slovakia celebrated the Earth Day (April 22) by organizing a series of funny educational meetings on the environment for kindergarten children, while for the day of seniors, Stellantis created an event dedicated to the oldest customers, who were brought to the party with the vehicles of the company led by the Motor Citizens.
The action of the Stellantis Motor Citizens of Tichy, Poland, was in favor of the blind and young people in a situation of fragility. Two groups of volunteers have in fact taken care of cleaning, cutting and reorganizing the garden of the Polish association of non -sighted people, a fundamental place for sensory therapy. Another group has devoted itself to the organization of a charity football match in favor of the Saléesian children’s hospice “świetlikowo”.
Hungarian colleagues have also devoted themselves to the blind, by reorganizing the Garden of the State Institute for the blind in Budapest. In addition, the Stellantis Motor Citizens visited the Pagony orphanage in Rum, bringing gifts and spending a pleasant day with the children, organized online courses of Word and Excel for volunteer and spring associations, they devoted a day to cleaning Lake Harsas, threatened by pollution.
The theme of volunteering is very important in France where, since the beginning of 2024, more than 200 colleagues have been involved in the activities of the Stellantis Motor Citizens, for a total of around 1,100 hours. In March, more than 100 employees participated in the national campaign “Restos du Coeur”, collecting and distributing food to the needy, while in May, around twenty colleagues in Caen collaborated to secure the route followed by the Olympic torch on its way to Paris. And today, on the occasion of International Volunteer Day, the Rennes and Poissy-Cemr sites, the central entities of Poissy, organized a meeting between employees and the main volunteer associations in the region, to give visibility to their activities. The CEMR site has also launched a food collection for the “food bank”.
The Stellantis Motor Citizens program thus asserts itself as a reality of a living and integrated business, which is inspired by the pillar engagement of the long -term strategic plan Dare Forward 2030, focused on ethical and social responsibility that Stellantis has always recognized as its fundamental principle.
